FOOD DRIVE FOR FAMILIES OF RUBY ELEMENTARY
Our church is partnering with Ruby Major Elementary to help support students and families in our community who could use a little extra help right now. We’re collecting shelf-stable pantry items like canned proteins, rice, pasta, hearty soups, and kid-friendly snacks to help keep homes stocked with nourishing food.
Donations can be dropped off in the bins at the front or side entrances of the church through Sunday, November 23rd.
Items Needed:
- Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon (packed in water), canned or dry beans (black, kidney, pinto, chickpeas), and peanut butter.
- Brown or white rice, whole-grain pasta, whole-grain cereals, and oatmeal
- Corn, green beans, peas, diced tomatoes
- Canned fruit packed in 100% juice or water (not heavy syrup) and unsweetened applesauce.
- Canned stews, chili, or hearty soups with both protein and carbohydrates. Pop-top cans are especially helpful for those without a can opener.
- Small bottles of cooking oil (vegetable, canola, olive), basic spices (garlic powder, chili powder, oregano), flour, and sugar.
- Shelf-stable milk (evaporated or boxed/aseptic cartons), or non-dairy alternatives like soy or almond milk.
- Granola bars, fruit cups, applesauce pouches, and crackers.
